Summer is a breathing space for us – a time to take a deep breath and realign our strategy. To make real progress, you need to understand what you have done in the past, what has worked and where there is still potential to learn.
At BusinessMind, we always use this opportunity for a major retrospective and a strategy meeting at the beginning of each quarter.
In July, the time had come again:
Quaterly at BusinessMind:
A day dedicated to the past and the future. Before our retrospective, we start with the highlights to create a positive mood – true to the motto “What you focus on will grow”. We would like to share these highlights with you:
Highlight 1: Moderation training
A look behind the scenes: The first open module of our “Moderation Training Compact” recently took place in the charming Woodlab and was a complete success. If you want to know more about this, read the post on LinkedIn here.
Highlight 2: Cooperation with the Federal Environment Agency
Another highlight was our collaboration with the Federal Environment Agency, which we have been working with for two years now to develop and train their internal moderation community. Employees have the opportunity to book various modules to feel more confident as a moderator. There is a potpourri of possibilities: Basic training, large group facilitation, conflict facilitation, online facilitation, process facilitation and more. We greatly appreciate the high level of commitment and the uncomplicated nature of the cooperation. Thank you very much!
Highlight 3: Our customers
We are in the fortunate position of having many customers who are a real pleasure to work with. All participants show a high level of commitment and eagerness to learn. We would like to take this opportunity to thank you:
Institute for Science and Technology (ISTA), Austrian Cooperative Research (ACR), Austrian Research Promotion Agency (EIP-FFG), Austrian Business Agency (ABA), WWF, Vienna Business Agency (WA-Wien), Formas in Sweden, Graz University of Technology, for whom we have usually conducted several workshops or training sessions.
What happens next?
After the highlights, we turn to the retrospective with the start-stop-continue method. This is probably the simplest and at the same time very effective way of carrying out a retrospective. The method works both online and offline. Post-its are collected for the following categories:
- Start: In this category all things are collected that could be tried out in the next orders / projects.
- Stop: This category contains actions, measures and methods that should no longer be used in the future.
- Continue: Here you can store everything that has contributed to your success and what you should keep.
This helps the team to readjust and try out new things. At BusinessMind, we have realized that our positive mindset and our commitment to delivering excellent training and facilitation is what drives the company forward. We have also realized that we need an assistant, as we are very busy with the many different orders.
Outlook
As we look back on the past six months, we feel invigorated and motivated to take the next steps at BusinessMind. We have therefore decided to offer our compact moderation training again in winter. You can find more information here.
