Our clients are leading institutions, companies and public organizations active in the fields of research, research funding, innovation, mobility, industry and sustainability. Together we design effective workshops, structured meetings and sustainable learning processes that bring about real change. Here you will find a selection of case studies and an overview of our clients.

BEST is one of Austria’s leading research institutes for sustainable energy technologies. A central strategy document had to be created for the next funding period – the basis for the funding application. The challenge: this document could not be developed by just a few people. It needed the knowledge and perspectives of a team of almost 100 people from different research areas.

BusinessMind designed and moderated a structured strategy process in four phases. Employees from all areas were actively involved – through trend workshops, several analysis groups and two management retreats.

The highlight was a large team meeting in which the common direction was sharpened and concrete next steps were defined.

The end result was not just a finished strategy document, but a team that understood and supported the content. Around 100 people were involved, a shared vision of the future was created – and the basis for the funding application was established.

The NCP Network supports researchers, companies and public organizations in participating in the EU research programme Horizon Europe. National Contact Points (NCPs) regularly organize training and information events to guide applicants through funding opportunities, calls for proposals and application processes.

To make these trainings even more effective, BusinessMind conducted a two-day online “Train-the-Trainer” program. Around 20 NCPs from various countries took part and learned how to make their presentations and training sessions more interactive. The focus was on the design of activating online agendas, the targeted use of methods and the use of digital interaction tools such as breakout sessions, surveys and whiteboards.

As a result, participants can now design their own training courses in a more structured, interactive and effective way. This strengthens their role as trainers within the NCP network and supports applicants even better in developing successful Horizon Europe project proposals.

A small copywriting question to think about:
Would it be stronger for this case study to say “20 trainers from the European NCP network trained” right at the beginning? Numbers at the beginning often immediately draw readers into the story.

Moderation plays a central role at the Federal Environment Agency – in projects, workshops and internal coordination processes. The aim was therefore not only to impart moderation skills selectively, but to anchor them structurally within the agency.

Together with the Federal Environment Agency, BusinessMind developed a comprehensive moderation training series over a period of around one and a half years. More than 70 employees took part in training courses on basic moderation, online moderation, large group moderation, conflict moderation and process support.

In addition, four community workshops were held in which experiences were exchanged, methods deepened and specific moderation situations reflected upon.

The result: a moderator pool of around 60 people and an active moderation community was created at the Federal Environment Agency. Today, moderations are increasingly carried out internally – and the quality of cooperation and decision-making processes has noticeably improved.
